I’ve found some hair products that I’ve really been enjoying and I thought I would share! My hair is dyed and pretty straight naturally, but I do tend to frizz out in the summers, as most of us do.
(I just noticed the photo above has a really controlled color palette, this is not on purpose, just a strange coincidence!)
My hair, especially over the summer, gets so dirty, so quickly – both from work and working out. I feel like dry shampoo can’t even help me sometimes. I normally come home and find joint compound dust and paint in my hair, so I do wash my hair 4-5 times a week.
I’m definitely one of those people that has a ton of shampoos and conditioners and use them based on the seasons or whatever my hair is going through. For example, in the winters I tend to use a tea tree oil shampoo to make sure I don’t develop dandruff from a dry scalp. In the summers, I use a shampoo that will give me a deep clean.
Fanola No Yellow Shampoo
I’m sure you’ve heard of this by now, if you have any sort of dyed hair. I actually really hated this shampoo the first time I used it – I couldn’t get over the smell, and I felt like it dyed my hands more than my hair. I recently picked it up again and have been loving it! It does keep my hair from looking too brassy. I normally leave this on for 4-5 minutes and only use it about twice a week.
Oligo Blacklight Blue Shampoo
If you’re looking for a blue shampoo that is not as intense as the Fanola No Yellow Shampoo, this one is it. It’s super hydrating and smells amazing. Basically, it’s everything I want in a normal shampoo, plus it keeps my hair from getting brassy. The Fanola No Yellow Shampoo works better for toning, but this one is great for hydration and overall smoothness. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try blue shampoo.
Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo
This is my main, go to shampoo. It smells amazing and is super affordable. And the best part, my hair feels so clean after I use this. It gets rid of paint, sawdust, sweat, product buildup, and whatever grime or grease you’ve got going on after a full day of work.
I got this one from Amazon for less than $5 and it’s been so helpful for my hair. It minimizes dandruff, and really helps the shampoo properly clean your hair. By nature of using it, you can also collect your hair that sheds so it doesn’t clog your drains. This is definitely one of those purchases that I didn’t think I needed until I got it.
L’oreal EverPure Conditioner
I have been through a lot of conditioners and this one is the one I keep repurchasing. It’s really thick and applies well, and it’s like you can feel your hair soak it up. I really do notice a change after using this conditioner, even hours after my hair has air dried. It’s kind of similar to the Aussie 3-Minute Miracle in that way. This conditioner is also sulfate-free, which actually has been making a difference in the health of my hair.
